Hi All,

Guess I am a johnny (or jeannie) come lately to this Peony introductions forum.

I got my start with peonies when a friend from San Francisco asked if I wanted her peonies that she got from her sister. She said that they have never bloomed for her and she is getting rid of them. Never one to turn down free stuff, I said "sure." Thumbs up

I put them into the ground, and since I am in a slightly colder climate (zone 9a), than San Francisco, I had high hopes. When they actually did bloom for me, I was hooked. That was about 15 years ago. From my start of 3 herbaceous peonies from her, I now have about 2 dozen of the herbaceous, 6 tree peonies, and my first ITOH purchased in the fall of 2009. I did not get the ITOH into the ground until last November, and am really keeping my fingers crossed that I will get a first bloom this year.
