It's been way too many years to remember who the hybridizer was that told me this but he said that after I crossed a few daylilies, concentrate on the seedlings from those crosses. He said that those seedlings are now your own and build from them. That way no one else will have the same genetics that you have.I know he was from Florida. I have tried to follow his advice by using my crosses and crossing them with other daylilies that I have acquired over the years but I do enjoy using other plants from various hybridizers as well.
