I love this salvia. The color blue catches your eye when it is in full bloom. As it begins to slow down I cut back all the scapes and it will produce a second bloom (the second picture) not as full as the first bloom but the flowers will last here in zone 5B/6a depending on the year, up until a really hard frost. I just cut it back this last weekend in October. There were still some flowers popping up on the scapes.
