Lorn, the large stemmed yellow L.a. were purchased in a pack of 5 bulbs - 3 were orange and 2 were yellow (or vice-versa - too long ago to remember) and I took scales before planting them. I had a total of 5 planters from the resulting little bulbs and only 2 or 3 liliums (over 10 per planter) are orange. And guess what: that's the planter I gave away ...... so now I have 4 planters full of yellow Liliums Green Grin! Anyway, I still have the parent bulbs.

Is it just my idea or are yellow flowered plants (in general) better 'equipped' to survive?
