Self-collected 2021 seed pods in early spring 2022. Washed, soaked and stratified approx 40 seeds. Sown in peat/perlite in two large (+3gal) plastic pots (05May & 29Jun). Despite repeated hot water soak/refrigeration cycles, most seeds showed no evidence of imbibing/swelling until scarified (filed) and briefly soaked/rinsed. Those which germinate will be grown-on for up-potting in spring 2023. Very uniform (+90%) germination of scarified seed by day 10. | |
