One "rescue plant" was bought and planted outside in Sep2019. It was very healthy by end-October. Left unprotected through the winter, it was not cold hardy in zone 5a. Needs winter protection, a consistent snowpack, or a micro-climate.

Hardy, warm season, upright, ornamental native perennial bunchgrass to 30" high. Attractive white feathery seed heads. Blue-green foliage has rust red fall color which gradually fades through the winter. Gently self seeds. Xeric.
