These guys did very well. We wrapped panty hose around them when they were small and that seemed to protect them well. They tasted really good.

June 13, 2016: Plant Ended (Removed, Died, Discarded, etc) (Plant Ended (Removed, Died, Discarded, etc) (This year was Dallas and I's first year trying to garden. The war with the squash bugs was fierce. We killed about 6 a day and were constantly having to rip the eggs off the plant. The squash bugs didn't really appear until the plant started producing fruit, and when they did they came in number. They did not respond to "Trish's spray" but all the other bugs did from what we could tell. Right when the plant started producing about a squash or two a day, we lost half of the plant. We thought the base had rotted from all of the rain and when we ripped it off, we found a grub inside of it. We still had half our plant left and thought we were good, until today when I went out to the garden and noticed all of the plant was rotted at the bottom. We figured out this was a squash vine borer that was killing it! We had been so focused on the squash bugs we didn't know to watch out for the vine borer! So now our squash has perished. ))

April 15, 2017: Plant Ended (Removed, Died, Discarded, etc) (This guy grew nice and big and we didn't know when a good time to harvest him was so we waited too late and he died. )

February 14, 2017 - September 14, 2017: Plant Ended (Removed, Died, Discarded, etc) (This plant grew and looked really nice but didn't produce a single tomato for us. For some reason it attracted more bugs than any of our other tomatoes so we left them in the ground to help defend our other ones. I am not sure why it never produced anything, it had plenty of flowers on it)

May 10, 2016 - October 1, 2017: Plant Ended (Removed, Died, Discarded, etc) (This guy produced a few small tomatoes for us. They were pretty tasty and the color was nice, red and yellow swirled. We wish he would have produced more than he did. )

June 11, 2016: Bloomed (Our first tomato fruit has emerged from it's flower!)
February 12, 2017: Seeds sown (We sowed seeds for Roma tomatoes again. This year we bought seeds instead of using them from a grocery store tomato. )
May 28, 2017: Obtained plant (We were able to harvest our first tomato of the year! The Roma beat out all our other tomatoes. )

This guy is a garden volunteer this year!

This guy is a volunteer in our garden! He appeared and we thought he was a weed but didn't recognize the leaves so we let him grow to see what he was. It turns out hes a really pretty flower so he gets to stay!
