Have Seeds Collected or purchased 2024 Perennials Edibles Native Wildflowers Fruits & Vegetables Trees & Shrubs |
DND's All Seeds Swap #9 (2022) - BassetBonanza - North America's largest edible fruit, with a wonderful tropical flavor. From wild trees located in and around Wellington, Ohio. Seeds must stay moist and need cold stratification. I will package these wrapped in a damp paper towel in a sandwich bag. EARLY SPRING SEED EXTRAVAGANZA #1 - 2024 - Joa922010 - Seeds collected sep 2023 Fruits have been collected from 10+ Trees found on my property. Produces a deep red purple flower in spring. Largest native fruit to the US. Can take 6 years or more to harvest when grown from seed. Seeds will need to stratification. I did not to the float test this year because in last years experiment most of the seeds that i had float still germinated. Place them in the fridge when you get them with moist spag moss and wait until spring. they do produce a long tap root before you see foliage so you just have to trust the process. I had seedlings coming out of my ears this summer! 70-100 days is the recommended stratification period. The seed should be sown 1'' deep in a light, well-drained soil mix, pH 5.5-7. Germination will occur readily at a temperature between 75°-85° F . Sow seeds in tall containers, with a height of about 10" designed for tap-rooted seedlings. Grows best in areas with hot summers and cold winters (USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5 to 8). It is hardy and relatively pest-free, and its tolerance to shade makes it suitable for intercropping with certain other trees. |
