[ Beautyberry (Callicarpa giraldii 'Profusion') | Posted on September 15, 2013 ]

Most beautyberries require a pollinator for fruit, but 'Profusion' is self-pollinating and always has a ton of berries! I have only one shrub, so this plant takes care of its own fertilizing.

Maryott's has confirmed that this daylily is Dormant in his garden.

[ Hosta 'Midnight Ride' | Posted on May 9, 2013 ]

They reseed easily and they are drought tolerant as far as Hostas go, also sun tolerant, slug resistant, and rapid growers. Good heat tolerance in zone 8.

[ Purple Deadnettle (Lamium purpureum var. incisum) | Posted on April 8, 2013 ]

Lamium purpureum is a mint-family plant known as purple dead nettle. It is said to be high in a number of nutrients including antioxidants, those cancer-busting compounds we can all use more of!

Very invasive, blooms and drops seeds in late winter before I ever get out. The few I used to ignore have become a few thousand. They are everywhere. I sprayed them with round up and they laughed at me. Maybe a stronger mix would do better, or full strength! Problem is they have grown over entire flower beds that have plants in them. Spray is out of question there. Sigh, rolling my eyes.

[ Hosta 'Sea Thunder' | Posted on March 6, 2013 ]

Great Hosta for southern gardens because of lower than normal winter dormancy requirement.
