I noticed there is no hybridizer or year listed for S. 'Leneca'
According to "Squaw Mountain Gardens" website and also http://www.sempervivum.info/li... this info should be
Gustaaf van der Steen, 1984
Thanks
This is one of those basic green semps with dark colored tips, but by no means a run of the mill green semp. It has such a beautiful form to the rosette and the green changes from a very chartreuse green to a lovely bright green. Depending on the time of the year it has greater or lesser amounts of brown/red leave edges and tips.
A very pleasing sempervivum for containers or beds.
This is a lovely semp that goes through some very nice color variations throughout the year.
Neither drought nor months of rain seem to bother this sempervivum. I have not had any problems with rot (rainy season) or excessive leaf die-off from 3 1/2 months of drought.
This semp has been in my collection for a full year now. It is one of the largest in the collection at about 10" across the largest rosette.
It has not had any problems with rot during winter/spring rainy season, or dehydration in our over 3 months of drought.
I love this tiny sempervivum. I have had it for one full year now. Nothing seems to bother it once it gets its roots into the ground.
Heavy winter/spring rains didn't slow it down (no rot), nor did our 2 month long drought cause any harm to this colony of sempervivum.
What more can you ask for?
