Yesterday I was hoping for my Bifrenaria harrisoniae to be open to start up the new thread for the month, but it was still looking like this. Not quite ready!

Seeing your images before really drove me to locate this species for myself. It has always been one of my most favorite species!
I just think it is just so beautiful. The creamy ivory green petals and sepals that can be either more creamy or more greenish, are just so full. Then I just love that fuzzy lip with its dark purple color, it is just a fantastic combination! Absolutely stunning.
As for mine, both are producing new roots as well as a nice, new growth. I will keep my fingers Crossing Fingers! hoping that they will flower.

Bill, it will surely do fine for you!! It is a great Orchid!! I need to repot mine this Spring to make room for the next growths.
I think this is the Orchid growing on the Redeemer mountain in Rio de Janeiro.

It's a beauty, Ursula. Lovely colors and contrast. Grown so nicely too.

I have my white Cattleya skinerii Debbie x Virginalis in full bloom today. They don't waste time or tease you for weeks, they just burst open all at once. I'm thinking they don't last awfully long, but thankfully we have some cloudy weather and a bit of rain predicted so maybe a bit longer this time than they lasted before.

You all have so many beautiful blooms to start the month of April. I was sending tons of likes on the orchids that were uploaded!

This one, is a No ID Phal, that I am most proud of. This was dead when it came back to me but was revived by Agro-Thrive. This has big blooms for such a small Phal. What a bittersweet day, since this is now going back to my friend as a "surprise"! She has no idea I was able to revive her "favorite" orchid!

That IS an awesome save Gigi, great growing!
Elaine, isn't it just insane how long it takes some buds to open and others,
like your beautiful Cattleya cross literally emerge and open right before your eyes!
Ursula, what a fabulous start to the month....I can almost smell the glorious fragrance! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby
My favorite is your Hoku Gem, which for some reason I can't grow here in Florida. Blinking I'm guessing it's a watering issue combined with growing outdoors.
I've got a bunch of things in bud now that I sprayed Orthene on everything...the thrips have arrived with a vengance. And a couple new photos to share.

C. Aurantiglossa on it's second blooming.

Today is our clubs annual orchid auction, held at the University Botanical Garden in Tampa. Luckily they have a large tent as we are likely to see some rain...lots of rain! Wish me luck.

But you know what, that C. Aurantiglossa is a real cutie pie!!! Lovey dubby It has a really colorful lip that really stands out and loads of crazy little spots! That is very pretty in its own right.

I'm with you, Bill. The Aurantiglossa is simply lovely. Graceful shape, elegant sprinkling of dots and the contrasting lip is amazing.

Lindsey, I'm also with you on the Hoku Gems. Can't make them survive even through one new bloom cycle. They just croak on me. Hmm, I haven't tried them on a mount yet, though! Maybe I'll take another chance on it, mount it and see if that is the trick for it.

I had the same problems with 'Why Not' - killed it twice - and mine is very happy on a mount now.
