If I replant it in organic soil will it eventually push out the toxic pesticides or are they in there for the life of the plant? May sound incredibly silly but I thought it was worth an ask...because I have no clue. If not I don't want to keep it or eat from it knowing most likely it's been given pesticides since it was a seedling. Thank you!
Doesn't much bother mint... I'd be surprised if anything more than fertilizer was used... And... Mint? Shouldn't even need that!
That said.... there are people who are absolutely Obsessive-Compulsive over their plants, and could well have dumped dangerous systemics all over their plants.
I've read that those Neonicotinoids don't just linger for the season... they are multigenerational! Meaning... they remain in the germ plasm of the seeds, and continue in future offspring!

might be worth asking what treatment the plant was given....
