Thanks! There were even some fence lizards out today as we hit a high of 77. I love the lizards & they do become quite friendly.

I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White

Is it an Eastern Bearded Dragon - Pogona barbata? It feels threatened enough to display the beard under the throat but it is not so threatened as to open it's mouth & display the yellow lining. ??????
VERY COOL even if I got it wrong.

All correct It was eating my native violet flowers but when It pushed through a clump it ran front-on into the painted cement turtle garden ornament - and displayed! It decided this was a mistake and went back to eating my violet flowers What can one do?
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.
I sort of wondered if the turtle statue had anything to do with the dragon putting on a display. Silly dragon.
I know what you mean but at least if something is going to eat the violets it's a cute something.

I was wondering how large they get. Now I know without having to go research again. He sure is handsome though. I like them! Do they kind of get to know you & get used to you?

Gleni, your bearded dragon is new to me. It must be fun living near them like you do. We have lizards but ours are mostly small ones. They too love to hang out on our house walls soaking up the sun. They get fairly tame when we're around, but always run and hide from our dog, and rightfully so. He takes their tails off when he can catch them.
Here are some of our New Mexico lizards.

Thank you both! We enjoy watching them very much. When we lived in the tropics we had geckos. They were very cute. Some of them came in the house and lived with us. We loved to hear them chirping.
