Well, I hated to start out the new June thread when I have only the one new boom ever.
'Red Squirrel':

But, like ordering extra plants to reduce the cost per plant when ordering, I am going to throw in some more photos to make the post worth the effort.

I have a few plus I am going to throw in some more--after all, they are blooming in June.

Golden Prize--this one must be 24 carat gold, for the color is intense.

Trickster--this one must satisfy some quirk in me, for I do really like it--it is certainly not a conventional looking daylily, is it---registered both as a UF and a double.

Jean Swann--my favorite double which has barely doubled--I attribute this is the weird weather we have had.

Those are all FFOS for today--here are some other pics of daylilies I posted that you have seen before. Most of these are "twins"-

Ok so I am so not supposed to have a bloom, today the very first day of June, but I do.

It is really an anomaly. It is a Maryott plant that I received last winter and probably was getting ready to send up a scape when winter happened. So about 3ish weeks ago, I noticed a scape. It really hasn't grown much. But suddenly today, it bloomed!!!

"Rendition" (although, I don't totally think that it looks like Rendition, but it seems to be totally mutant otherwise, and it doesn't match anything else that I got form Maryott last year, so I have to assume that it is what it is labelled as.

Here is more to follow. Storms started cropping up and had 5 dogs to walk and pictures to finish. This is my third or fourth attempt.

Due to weather this is how far off my color is. The first one is the shade the camera gave it. The second picture is the actual color.

Your photo of Real Wind looks to be right side up, that may be the reason you can't get it too "look right". The buds are at the top of the photo!
Well, looking again maybe it could be sideways...

Larry-- Just beautiful photographs. Thank you for picking up the slack after I just got one picture in! Lady Neva has been one on my want list and your photo justifies why it is.
Excellent job!
Real Wind might be OK I may have taken the picture upside down because of where the bloom was.

Avedon-- just elegant. Your daylilies always look picture perfect. Which they are along with your pictures being perfect! If I was a daylily I would want to live in your garden!

Heidi--so glad you got one today and a beauty too!

Lisa--great photos! I am always a fan of Roses in Snow!

May happiness surround you!

The only new variety today is 'Richard Herbert Haynes'. The bud was hail damaged, but it kept growing and doesn't look too bad. This is located in front of 'Mexican Flame Vine', but between the hail and hard rain there wasn't a full complement of blooms on the vine. I'm hoping that works out. A wall of orange and green Big Grin .

The rain has finally stopped and I was able to get a few shots this afternoon. Weeping Nation looks beat up after a long day in the afternoon sun. It was shipped from Marietta Gardens with a scape and bud which bloomed within a couple of weeks. Solar Music was the biggest, brightest
bloom in the yard. Gloucester looks a like parent Lady Alvatine...love em both!

Thanks Jill, Weeping Nation is planted on a slight hill that gets afternoon sun until. It would look much better if planted in an area with morning sun and afternoon shade. I'm still learning the minor details of daylilies. Ginormous, Gloucester and Solar Music are planted in pots for now ...haven't decided where to plant them. Breakfast With Santa is planted in a front bed that i shaded in the afternoon. The plants in that bed look much better after I get home in the afternoon.

Ginny-- that really looks like it. It's stats seem shorter with a larger flower than mine. But mine is towards the back in a pot so my judgement can be way off. Tomorrow I will put the tape measure to it. Crossing Fingers! Thank you for the lead! Thumbs up

Stan--Good job!

Donald--RHH did end up looking pretty good. Gotta have that precipitation but hail and hard rain are upsetting. Hope that your plants and anything else can make a quick recovery!

@mom2cjemma
Heidi, I too have a plant I got from Maryott's last fall that has really short scapes and has already had one bloom. Mine is Diversity. I didn't take a picture of it because it rained most of the day that it bloomed, but it certainly didn't have the nice saturated colors of the picture on the database. I figured the scapes were stunted by the crazy back-and-forth weather we have had here in the midwest. It looks like I will get some more blooms tomorrow or Saturday, so we will see how those go Crossing Fingers!
