It is always the first thing to bloom for me, but I didn't want to post it before since it was the only thing blooming until today.

Amber simply sweet flowers! I like them both. Sad that so many daylilies have been short. Those crazy up and down temps. Why do they want to confuse a flower?

I know I'm boring so far, but only the 2 new ones in pots are blooming so far and they both bloomed this morning! Still pretty small blooms but getting better! I'm not sure the colors were as good on Miss Scarlett this time as they were on a previous bloom though.

Ginny, they look good to me! Bloom season starts out slow with only one or two and over night you have a garden full of scapes and buds.

I try to do that but I just end up being late for work! But that really is the best time to take pics as the blooms are nice and fresh. I had a big nice bloom on The Dominator this morning, but did have time to snap a pic. By the time I get home in the afternoon the blooms are faded and chewed a bit by snails or what ever likes dayliles. The ones that I have potted fare a bit better as I can move them onto the shade of the patio the night before I bud is about to open.

I guess I'll just have to get up earlier or stay off this site until I have my pictures!!!! So relaxing to check in with everyone in the morning while drinking my coffee

I usually do not like lilac daylilies very much; but this one is a HUGE exception to that rule. The minty green throat is a very nice contrast to a bloom with great color and form.

Amber - The scapes on a lot of my early bloomers were shorter than they should be.

Ginny - Those look pretty good for the first few blooms on new plants. I especially like Ima Bigtimer! I was always glad to be on Summer Break as a teacher, so I could spend lots of time photographing the blooms. Your employer is just going to have to let you come in later when those blooms start popping. We need to see those pics! LOL
