One of my adeniums is in full bloom. Don't mind the aluminum foil on the caudex, it is to keep the cats from using it as a scratching post.

Very nice, hope that aluminum doesn't harm the caudex in any way.

So far they haven't hurt them. I've had them on 2 large adeniums that the cats thought particularly attractive for about a year with no problems. The caudex looks strong and healthy underneath. The foil also reflects some of the heat and sun off the caudex and I think that is good as well. It's loose enough that moisture doesn't get trapped inside in the rainy season. I have to change it about every 3 or 4 months as the sun deteriorates the aluminium foil. I lost a very large ponytail palm and an adenium with a large caudex before I learned that cats don't like the smell or feel of aluminum foil.

Lovely adenium blooms Jonna! I can just hope my adenium will bloom a little faster too Big Grin

My adenium did not lose her leaves this winter, unlike last year when it lost her leaves in Fall and returned in April. Must be the milder winter..

hi folks, I have high hopes of being able to get back online using some new software called Dragon. It types what I speak eliminating my typing, which has become next to impossible due to my essential tremor. When I go to hit one key I will end up hitting three keys, very frustrating. Now I have to spend some time teaching the software how I speak. I'm having a lot of fun trying to get it to spell Adenium obeseum, and Adenium aribican. I have a feeling that in the end, I'll just have to be satisfied with Desert Rose. I don't want to leave without first saying hello to all my friends, I have not forgotten any of you, and am very anxious to get online. Hope to see you all again in this forum. Very soon. But it all depends on how I make out with this new software. Goodbye for now.

The odd flower might need Boron, an element that is sometimes depleted.

HI JIM!! I tried Dragon a few, well, maybe ten years ago, and it was the funniest program on Earth. It decided what I was saying, and insulted me, too, all the time. I renamed it Lucille Ball!

Oh, folks, Dragon is a speech to text program, it's supposed to be able to write what you say into a microphone. but it's really a gremlin inside a program.

Hi.

I, too, tried a speech recognition program way back in the days of wood-fired computers. Unfortunately, the experience wasn't positive, so I stuck with my stone tablet keyboard as a means to enter data. Given the leaps and bounds achieved by technology every day, I would hope that it has improved significantly since I gave it a whirl.

Take care, all.
Sylvain.

hi everyone, well, I have to tell you, there must've been some major improvements in the system. I still have problems with strange words like Adenium obeseum and Adenium Aribican, but since I usually just use Desert Rose, I should be okay. Small still X experimental, but I'm going to keep at it until it learns my voice and the way I pronounce different things. No pictures yet, but I hope to post some soon
