JT remember the Arabicum I purchased from you last year, it has the smallest little flower but the plant is pretty big, and where the flower bloomed there are NO leaves.

Doris, that's what Arabicums do. I have a little one that's really fat, and it has one little pink bloom. Fooey, no photo of it. It makes me laugh! It's too bad that Dr. Seuse didn't know these wonderful plants!

That red guy was the same as this one, Double Santa Claus. That one was the first day, when only the outer petals opened.

Love that one melissa. that little flower looks like it was stuck on there, no leaves on that branch at all, and I have several adeniums that are getting realy tall, but hate to cut them down.

I like all the different kinds of shapes Adeniums take, I don't prune very much at all.

OK, I am posting a photo that I may have posted here before--- This is a three year old plant that was buried in a three gallon pot. You can see the green part of the caudex, it was all that was showing. I had it potted in huge chunks of bark that I got off a very big old tree. There were inch-big air spaces down in the pot. The bark held moisture, and the spaces allowed root formation. There was a layer on top of the bark, of shredded cypress mulch and peat, for the feeder roots. I decided to dump the guy out of the pot (behind the plant in the photo) because the pot was getting deformed.

I repotted in a larger pot, and the caudex is still at the buried level. I will repot in a couple of months into a pretty pot that I have yet to buy, and then I will leave some of the tangle of roots exposed. Whew.

These plants are something else. I saw photos of a HUGE tree-form Adenium that took three men to move into another pot.

OK!

Do you cut or leave the smaller roots when you repot? Confused

Hi Doris.Am I still selling?Yes and no.I have stopped producing brugs by the hundreds and sold most of the stock plants.I was burned out on brugs after 12 years.BUT,I did keep 12 of my favorites and will still be hybridizing. As I see these seedpods growing I am beginning to get excited again.I will sell the natural increase from these just to fund my hobbies. Most of my energy now will go into the adeniums and my wood shop.

As Melissa said, that's typical Arabicum.Huge caudex and small flowers. They also seem to be more sensitive to cool temperatures. Most of mine dropped their leaves this winter even in the greenhouse.
