I'd still trim them after they finish blooming; a denser, shorter plant is so much more attractive I think.

Sorry - it's just that in general the shorter denser plants are considered more desirable.

I was the same way at first but i do both i love to un-pot mine and look at the caudex and lift it but i cut branches on some of mine and leave some long that way when i have them stacked around i can do taller in back and shorter in front and see both but thats me sooner or later they all get cut some!!

Very nice blooms Hetty, I have several now with buds, I also lost a new grafted seedling, I noticed it was not growing but it looked OK, I decided to take it up and check, well the whole root system was mush, every part under the soil was rotten, as you can guess I was not happy about this at all.

I found a rotten bottom on a plant that looked great, big green leaves growing, except it was wilted a bit. The top was leaning over. I felt the stem and it wasn't rigid. Wow, what a surprise!

I often go around checking to see if the stems are strong or mushy-weak feeling.
