It happens every few years. I am a NHRA avid fan and, of course, an avid orchid fan. This years start to the drag racing season, the Winter Nationals, is Feb 8-9-10. This years first show in Westchester sponsored by the Newport Harbor Orchid Society is.......Feb 8-9-10.
I have been going to the races twice a year with the same group of guys for some 20 odd years. The NHRA season starts here in Pomona in Feb., travels around the country and ends up back here for the finals in Nov. Still have to fit them both in

Ted, I'm assuming you meant Westminster. If the orchid show really is in Westchester, take pictures because I won't make it there.

These are more of the Sarasota Orchid Show/Sale that Elaine went to...I took pics while I was there too, and even bought a couple for myself.

I was very well behaved and did NOT buy this (though I've been regretting it ever since!) I mean seriously, just look at the floofage on this thing!


I DID buy one of these last year from Rafael...hmmmmm, I wonder where it is...

I might have to look for one of those Peach Birds...what a beauty! I bought one of those Varut Startrack plants when Jim and I went down to Palmers a few months ago. Mine is in bud and I hope it looks half as nice as yours..it DOES look like it's been tipped with a dry brush detail.

That Catt with the major floofage ( good one, Patty) is awesome! I love the Lc "Rum Punch" too, the colors are gorgeous. The displays are truly magnificent and drool worthy!

I had just been talking to my brother who lives in West Chester, Ohio. Westminster, Westchester, Alabama, Mississippi, 220, 221 I'll get it right sooner or later

The displays were very nice but unfortunately, all the awarded plants were removed so the photographs could be taken.
I'm on my way home in the morning and my hope is my credit card has enough on it to fill up the car before the 4 1/2 hour drive north to Tampa.

, there is no hope for you Lindsey, :lol:, but, what a great haul. Good thing you can go barefoot most of the year in Florida because I know you ruined your shoes on that trip.

Lets not forget NYBG Orchid show (Feb 23 - April 28) and Longwood Gardens (Jan 19 - Mar 24) neither really sells orchids or has judging but there are thousands of orchids on display. If you can only do one of these do Longwood Gardens.
As I said there are no orchids on sale at these but Longwood Gardens does have a sale in April at which they sell the displayed orchids for $20 or $25 each. I've purchased several of these over the past two years and they continue to bloom for me.

And hopefully it won't snow here next weekend for the North Jersey Orchid society show at Rutgers.

Lindsey, that is a great haul! You did awesome! Heh, Ramen tastes great this time of year?

I've never been to this show and I'm about an hour away in Easton, PA.
Should I make the trek out there?

It is always a very nice show with lots of good vendors, including Andy. If the roads are passable, I would say yes.

You forgot to mention that you may be hidden by flowers and foliage!!
