How about orchid pot shopping? @Ursula, this showed up in my email this morning. I think you should go and find some antique pots - and maybe some Baccarat goblets or maybe the sterling julip cups. Whistling

Hopefully this weekend if the weather permits I will have an opportunity to see Orchids at Orchids fest at the local state university. I'm hoping to be able to purchase something at the vendor. I'm hoping someone will have an Oncidium twinkle available.

Perhaps a quick call to the vendors is in order. If a plant is available most vendors will usually bring a plant to the show for a customer to pick up. .

I would but sadly the University didn't list any vendors names. I do know that there will be orchids available for sale per the University's site. If I were a donor I could go in the evening beforehand and look things over and make purchases before the general public. But I'm not so will have to hope for the best. (Besides tomorrow evening will be darn cold even before you factor in the windmills.)

I had a great morning today at the Deep Cut OS Show at Dearborn Market in Holmdel, NJ, afterwards I spent time with my granddaughters and the sweet Pups in nearby Morganville. I am home now, unpacked everything and the plants are watered. I took tons of pictures too.
I am now relaxing with a bite to eat, most likely I will list my loot and report tomorrow. I bought a lot of bare root stuff from Ecuagenera, he brought a pile of great plants!! Really - Michael, the Ecuagenera representative, always piles a mountain of wrapped plants on the tables. Smiling Fun digging!!

Yes!
Ecuagenera is coming to a show near me. Oh boy! Lookout pocketbook here I come. I won't bother with a pre-order because I want EVERYTHING!' Rolling on the floor laughing
April 27-28, 2019 at the West Shore Orchid Society Show in Strongsville Ohio. And it is within my Judging region. It is some two and a half hours away. Judging is 8am on Saturday so I think I'll go down on Friday afternoon and attend the show on Saturday and be home before nightfall!
I am going to start putting money aside now. Hey Ursula, I am going to need those shoes girl! Men's 12EE!! Rolling on the floor laughing I tip my hat to you.

I had a problem with pre-ordering from them, but they do bring a ton of stuff to the shows. Ursula has an in with them since she visited their home base. Hilarious!

@Ursula I unfortunately am going to miss Deep Cut show, have to work this weekend :(
I especially will miss their fragrant section, more shows should do this.
I watched a YouTube video a guy did showing his tour of Equador orchids in the wild which was led by someone from Ecuagenera.
They stopped at one of their nurseries, picked out a few plants which were shipped home for them.

Oh I don't think that I will pre-order. It is just too easy for me to go way over budget.
When I go to a show now, no credit cards come, only a debit card and a finite amount of cash makes the trip. Check book stays home also.
There is so much I would like to try underlights in the way of pleurothallids, Dracula's, Masdevallias and such, so if I only take a certain amount of "financial capability" with me, I have to limit myself.
The HARD part is between now and then, what is my limit??? Confused Whistling

Maybe a half million!

Now that I think about it it's the SEPOS show that has the fragrant section not Deep Cut.
Getting old I guess D'Oh!

Dang, I was just about done posting my pictures from the Deep Cut OS Show yesterday, when I must have slipped with my finger and negated most of it. Ok let's start again, and this time I will chop them into perhaps two parts.
Fasten your seat belts! Smiling
