Just wanted to let you all know, we had some sun today. I saw the yard briefly, looked in the general direction of the last sighting of my Gold Nugget...still buried in snow.

A glimpse of things to come. How exciting for you Dirt. You aren't suppose to get some of that arctic blast that is causing havoc in the east and midwest?

Arctic blast just hit us - for starters we are at 18, but down to -1 tonight. Cabinet door in the corner bathroom open! Kitty tucked into his heated cat bed. Firewood ready for tonight.

I remember on New Years Day morning when we hit -32 F at my folks' place in MA. I decided right then and there "I'm out of here when I have the chance". Don't do ice and snow any more. We have had a couple of snow events here in 8 years but generally it's a one or two day event and then back to normal. This year my front yard has not even frosted. (It is protected and near the road and river.)

Ten miles from Kevin, and we get plenty of frost at my place. The sun is out in all it's glory this morning. Off to work in a few minutes. Everything in me just wants to play outside.

Seems like it's been forever since I last checked in. I hope everyone is having a great 2019 so far. It's been wet here with temps above average. I'm afraid all my fruits will bloom early again this year This soggy winter is going to be a real test for my semps. I had so much going on I haven't had time to do anything with them but leave them where they sit. I hope all of you in the way of the Arctic blast stay safe and warm

OK , fingers crossed. It's just that it's only 1/3 the size now of when I got it. But I will give it my best shot!

-3 degrees right now. Wind chill -35. Our front door at work has frost all over it, something I have never seen it do before in 7 years. Schools closed, warming centers for homeless and cold people now open.

I been working in the garden for three days. I'm a new woman, so happy to be outside. I didn't work in the semp beds because I would not get my other things done then. Still so much to do!

We have snow in the weather forecast for Sunday,Monday and next Friday.

Daniel, how wonderful to hear from you. Hope you and all the family are doing well. And really glad to hear you still have semps. Let me know when you would like some of your babies to return home.

Oh Christie, I don't know what to say about that weather. I've only been in that kind of weather twice in my life time. Once was when we were in the Cascade Mountain elk hunting. A freak storm hit and dumps snow that was chest high on the horse and record low temps. They were helicoptering people out. We made it out on our horses, ten miles to the trucks. Had to go back for one of the trucks, it wouldn't start.

Julia, I'm jealous. Been working this week and by the time I get home it is already to cold to play in the yard.

When the sun goes down it gets kind of chilly. Nothing like back east thought.
