Oops, and I was debating putting out my tender succulents early this year cause it has been so warm...Guess I'll have to see! I'm glad for the snow because the mountains are looking very bare (like how they normally look in later June) ANd that's our water for the summer
Thumbs up

Everyone stay warm and safe! Thumbs up

We are doing good, the kids are growing up super fast. I'm still content with the semps I have here but I hope that the babies grow fast for you and can be shared with others soon. Speaking of sharing I'll have that sedum headed your way sometime around March that we talked about last year. Thumbs up

To everyone in the midwest- stay safe and warm with this brutal cold! It was -4 this morning in CT. Thumbs down I cannot imagine it being colder 10-20 degrees colder than that. Hopefully just a few more days and we warm up.

Good news is that semps are from the ALPS! They can take it. I have never lost one to cold other than Commander Hey, which I lost EVERY YEAR in MA) but I have lost lots to rain and heat/humidity.

Stay safe all you Midwesterners. Still lots for sale in Oregon!

Lynn I think the snow is for over 1 K feet so nothing on the Valley floor. NOT complaining though. Seattle may get the real white stuff. None should last though as the ground and air temperatures are too high. My pots of germinated iris seedlings will go under the frost blanket though!

Daniel it is good to hear about your family. I miss seeing photos of them. Tell them all I said hi. Hurray!
Can't wait to see that sedum, I forgot what it looks like. Old peoples lack of memory. *Blush*

Speaking of pots Kevin, how long have you had you large bowl of tender succulents that you keep on your patio?

Hang in there Jesse and all the rest of you in the freezing cold. Group hug

I'm so jealous! Sticking tongue out You all are still gardening, and those of us in the arctic blast are just trying not to freeze to death. Or for our water pipes not to freeze and burst. Crying Best I can do right now is look at the semp database - and give out some likes for your great photos I tip my hat to you. and then also content myself with my Amaryllis. They are on the opposite schedule of semps so at least I have that. Contented myself though this morning with filling out a survey from Mountain Crest Gardens - all great of course! Hurray! Wind chill is -20 today, but we might get a heat wave (maybe 29 degrees) tomorrow - but no good thing goes unpunished and a snow storm will come with those warmer temps. Sighing! Ah well. In the meantime, I will just have to live vicariously through you folks in Oregon and WA! Group hug

Lynn, That pot has been on my patio for 6 years. I think these Echeveria are quite hardy here, at least in my yard. Good ol' Willamette River keeps things warm!!

I have some Echeveria - I think that is what they are. They are fallen orphaned bits and pieces I rescued from the sidewalk at my grocery store outdoor succulent sale. Most of them have rooted and are sending up rosettes - my first attempt at doing this. Will maybe post some photos this spring and perhaps someone can identify them for me - one has a red stripe running through it, and another one is rather fuzzy. And the others are mixed colors.

Chris, I was purging some photos and came across this pic with what I think is a great fuzzy Echeveria...E. setosa. Unfortunately is a tender and wasn't hardy on my balcony here.

Kevin, your hardy Echeveria...which ones are they so I can beef up my hardy E. collection here in Oregon. I already have E. agavoides and imbricata.

Sorry I'm posting about E. instead of Semps...

Hey Kevin, isn't that an E. Imbricata potted on your patio?

No clue other than the Black Prince label is still in the pot. For once in my life I bought something "just to put in a pot" not hybridize.

Yes the Sempervivophila site has the chromosome counts. Base number is 16-22. Very small chromosomes.

I bought some Aloinopsis from him a few weeks ago. He has some very nice cold hardy succulents. The plants I received are very nice.
