I was very impressed with them. I've ordered plants from companies before and they arrived dead...Spring Hill..Argh. I shouldn't think about that. LOL.

Here are ALL of them in their temporary spot, next to a cow skull I'd like to plant with some of them. Can't live in Okla. and not have a cow skull somewhere! This one was partially buried in my back yard when I moved in. Had no idea what to do with it until now. Also, I am trying to propagate the leaves that came off, read somewhere that it was possible so why not try. Waste not want not.Thumb of 2012-06-01/keyi/38e72d

Michelle - Please let us know how the leaf cuttings work out for you. That will be a great way to multiply these if it works well.

Michelle and Clint, I've tried a number of times to propagate from leaves. Here's what I found out. If the leaf has a bit of stem on it, then there is a good chance it will root and grow. However, if the leaf doesn't have any stem, then I always lost it. Be sure to not let them dry out. Mist daily and keep out of hot sun. I hope you have better success than I did.

You can start a lot of semps quickly by cutting sections of stems that have leaves, then growing them. It's easy to lose the starts if they dry out too much. You might want to try this technique on a variety that you have plenty.

It would be very interesting if they did reproduce from the leaves. They are not known to do that.

Hurray! Wahoo, doglover got her box of semps from LabourofLove. Hurray!
Can't wait to see your photos.

Clint, I'm happy they arrived in good shape. You'll be surprised at how quickly you'll have more than you know what to do with. Lynn is right - all the nurseries she has listed in this thread The thread "Succulent Nurseries" in Sempervivum forum will send you beautiful plants. I have Springhill "stories" too - will never order from them again.
