Suprisingly, all their orchids were in bark mix! I was amazed! Both are in 6" pots, and in need of repotting, as soon as they are out of bloom. I may have to change my opinion of Lowes (garden shop). Whistling

I just bought Den. anceps 'Albert and Merkel'. It was a division of the seller's mother's plant. Must be an old spirit!

Well, I have a couple of Brassavola house guests that just arrived from Johnston/Jewell Orchids. The first is B. cucullata, mounted on bark and the second is B. tuberculata which arrived in a plastic basket. I'm happy!

Ok, Jim...the race is on to see which of us gets blooms on Brassavola cuculata. The one I bought in March is about the same size as yours. Your humidity may give you an edge. Big Grin

Yeah!! Jim, nice plants. Thumbs up

Lindsey, are you talking about Dendrochilum glumaceum? The spikes emerge together with the new growth and this is not a tough plant to keep. Mine got a bit crispy this Summer, but I know the new growth will be fine. The pendant spikes have a wonderful strong Anise scent with a touch of Vanilla.

I went to the Amherst Orchid Society sale in Hadley MA today. My buying shoes were on! Eleven new plants:
Aerangis rhodosticta var. luteo-alba (finally!)
Encyclia garciana
Angraecum distichum
Restrepia striata
Cirrhopetalum tingabarinum
Dockrillia schoenina
Brassavola cucullata (a parent of Jim's plant)
Lycaste longiscapa
Lycaste Cassiopeia 'Wyld Peach'
Coelogyne from Sumatra
and one mini oncidium that they removed the tag when I was buying. I'll have to write to J & L who sold it to me.
