Lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Sensation')

'Lilac Sensation' is a nice addition to garden landscapes. Its coloring is somewhat 'mauve-pink-purple' with a white margin around each bloom floret. Nothing says Spring like lilacs and their fragrance. Photo to follow.

Oh Leon I LOVE your banner!! Our area isn't great for lilacs (think it doesn't get cold enough?) but I do have seven Miss Kim lilacs. Planted two, they did well, so I picked up some more. Just love them. Lovey dubby

Thanks everyone for the comments.

Pictures; The shrub grows behind the house just off the back porch.
This is the photo the banner was taken from.

I think the fragrance is what sold us on lilacs. And yes they do love cold winters, at least ours seem to.
We have seven or eight plus the Korean "Miss Kim" which has a 'sweet, honey' aroma. Another plus is
they are so easy to grow and maintain.

Great looking banner, and shrub! Sensation is well named. I think I'll have to hunt one down and find room. Plus, as a clergyman, I do see the connection with this new season of Lent. The color is right and the cross pattern seems right obvious to me. Appreciating it on lots of levels. Pity the scent doesn't carry through. Smiling
