You are not the only one Mystique Black did not do well for. I only had one and it did come back at a big maybe 4 inches tall .

I have some height but this is the second season and at the rate most phlox grow roots and increase I expected more than 1 stem.
I have a compost plan for this fall.Lets see how it winters.

Mine is small, too; about 10", maybe? No blooms on it yet this year, and most of the other phlox are more than halfway done with their first flush.

Twister, however, is doing very well.

I also had Mystique Green that so resembles Sherbet Blend I didnt mind when the 4 plants didnt make it past the year they were planted.

Twister sounds like a winner. I planted 3 new short ones this year and they all only have one or two stalks and they are all floppy, so am just waiting to see what they do next year. So far, I've been better at killing phlox that growing them. I do have 2 tall ones that reseeded themselves in my back garden that have yet to bloom. Not even sure what color they will be.

Thanks! I picked them up this spring at one of the BB stores. They're supposed to be hardy to z7 so I'll lift in the fall Jo Ann. So nice

Evan.GF bought a bag of bulbs from BB store too.She had been looking for an ID when it just burst forth in the big planter.
I'll tell her to bring in the planter or dig bulbs.
