When I started this thread, I probably should have just said "I'm bored with Knockout Roses" or something less harsh. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my title. I just really don't like some of them. The double pink one is rather nice though. I've softened a bit as far as that one is concerned. It's the Sunny Knockout that I find ugliest of all.

I do the high protein thing, but chocolate cake was a welcome treat on a tough day!

Xeroscaping plants such as lavender and rosemary don't do well here. I have to pot them with lots of rocks and keep them out of the rain!

Carefree Celebration and Johnson's Blue Geranium are in my garden's tough spot. right now, JB is in a pot and CC is waiting for another pot.

Moving these thorny monsters is going to be a challenge. So far, everyone is surviving in their pots. Of course, I need more pots, more boxes, etc. If Grumpypants continues to ignore my messages on the move, his stuff will be left behind unboxed. i hope that he is simply experiencing technical difficulties because I am very low on patience right now!

Finally finished my biz phone calls. can head out and dig until dark.

I am not offended.

I haven't seen the sunny knockout. The stores are filled with the single red and hot pink. There are a few doubles here and there. At least I am not tempted to add to my rose collection when getting groceries and supplies at the big box stores.

The new Giant grocery store has single pink knockouts blooming in a planting in the parking lot. They look more cheerful than the average median planting. People are surprised that they are roses. One neighbor and novice gardener asked me if the azalea she bought was the same as my CC roses. Well....no, but it is pretty anyway.

I think people are attracted to a catchy name, not a plant. At least people who "can't grow roses here" will see roses growing here!

Clint, would you like me to change the title to "I'm bored with Knockout Roses"? Or "I Hate Knockout Roses aka I'm bored with Knockout Roses". I can do that. Green Grin!

>> "Consider it as a blooming bush and not a rose bush".

Thank you, Cinta!

I was bitterly disappointed when the blooms "didn't look like roses", and fell apart as soon as I tried to put them in a vase. But if I think of it as a flowering bush, it's lovely!

It's just not a "ROSE" rose.

But it has taken over most of the bed that I put it in!

I don't think the title should be changed. It's eye-catching and generates interest, and there's enough content in the thread that's in favor of Knock Outs, so people who read it can't be offended.

I agree It's a real attention grabber!! Also has been a fun thread. Thumbs up

I was originally attracted to the single flowers on Knockout Shrubs because they looked like dogwood flowers and I did not have a dogwood. I was thrilled to have the beautiful pink flat flowers. I left 4 of them at the other house. Sad

If we are taking a vote I vote to leave the title. It is the most active topic in the Rose Forum.

I have gotten a lot of info about other roses just reading this post,
Clint maybe you should start a topic of "I HATE ROSES" That should get some juices flowing and I can get some more info. Rolling on the floor laughing

I like the way you think! By any chance do you live in a part of PA near NJ? When I lived in NJ for too long, we called that "why don't you and he fight?"
