Weather is a challenge. Having done nothing special here, I am also amazed how many lilies really bounce right back and are really not damaged with a frost coming late in the season.
Got a few bloomers here today. You might know that lily season is just my favorite time of year. It makes me wake up early in the morning and enjoy the dawn, while most people are still asleep. I enjoy the lilies and the quiet peace of early dawn. It's very special.
'Valley Girl', a Fred Fellner hybrid
'Plum Crazy'
'Chippendale'
'Peach Lace'
martagon lily, G.F Wilson
Mass blooming martagon 'Pink Attraction'
My personal favorite of the Tiny Series, 'Tiny Bell'
'Beaudacious'
martagon, 'Nepera'
Mrs. RO Backhouse
'Alexly'
'Lemon Meringue' purchased as an oriental, but has a bit of a OT presence. Nice, reliable garden lily.
martagon 'Karuselis', not a very great photo, as I am terrible at capturing the pure beauty of the martagon lily. The buds on this lily were beautifully colored for two weeks before one opened. I wondered if they were ever going to open, so I have come to appreciate their pretty colored buds.
'Tiny Athlete'
Nothing quite like 'Tiger Babies', it is one to multiply nicely and hold up through just about anything. A lily every garden simply must have!
That's my contribution to lily land today. Enjoy your lilies everyone.
