Interesting, it's in the Simple-to-grow selection from Regan Nursery and I already own a few roses from there. I like it.

@SoCalGardenNut, we are starting the yellow climber quest... Smiling
This particular one is growing huge here in the first season in ground, own roots. Do you have room for a large spectacular climber? It has survived Sacramento's summer heat so it ought to survive yours as well.
The other suggestion:
I suggest it strongly. It is remontant and fragrant and very trouble free!
Others in my yard are Lichtkönigin Lucia, Mischka, Safrano, Climbing Peace, and three of your four above mentioned DA's. None have shown any signs of wanting to become climbers. Unfortunately, Charlotte and Graham Thomas are going downhill so they are in the rescue list to be lifted and given extra TLC all winter inside... Crossing Fingers!
Finally, we've seen lovely pics by Calif_Sue of Crepuscule.
Mine is moving ahead in the direction of hers. The blooms are small but the sheer profussion...oh my. The colour changes from yellow to light tan/apricot.

Garden Nut, I would highly recommend any rose bred by Ralph Moore. He bred for health and I have not found a rose of his that could not take the heat during summer. His yellow sweetheart climber or Jackie might fit the bill for you. I am always leery of DA roses because they generally don't do well in our summer heat unless they get afternoon shade.

@hamparsum, I like your picture of double yellow but that's a huge plant. I have a very small yard, less than 6000 sqft, It will be climbing near my wall, possibly climb to the neighborhood's tree even.

@Mustbnuts, I think my neighbor trees will give it some shade. I will look up those roses.
Thank you for your recommendations.

I prefer a more yellow color, my quest for an apricot climber will be later on, I need to find a space for it yet( one color at a time here). This yellow climber will be near a Young Lycidas.

I kept searching HMF for ideas and a group that might suit you are the Meilland Romantica roses ; they have the old garden rose quartered bloom but are adapted to drier weather than the DA's. Some of these a not very large climbers, and Zuzu seems to be growing a few of them. I fully endorse Mustbnuts suggestion for Ralph Moore's climbers. Of his I've got growing a lovely miniature that hasn't stopped blooming 'Orange Cascade', that is more yellow than orange at least here. He has quite a few that are worth exploring.

Hi all. Can anyone tell me why a rose would do this? A bunch of buds are coming from the center of the bloom.

Valleylynn, I have the same question as yesterday, for the first time, I saw one bud coming through a Climbing Cecille Brunner bloom; but yours is really unusual with several buds! I'd be surprised if no one here's knows why!

Hiya, Lynn. That's called proliferation. Isn't it weirdly cool? It's sometimes blamed on wild swings in outdoor temperatures or on various other things, but it's temporary and it doesn't hurt the rose.

Lynn, that's really cool.
Especially since there's nothing "wrong" with your rose bush (as ZuZu said).
I've never heard of that.
If those buds open and bloom, I would like to see a photo of that.

I have been a member here for a couple of months, and the one thing I have noticed is that you are "very dedicated".
I am moderately active on 3 forums here. But while scrolling through or browsing around, you are active EVERYWHERE throughout numerous forums, on this website. You're busy with the database photos and moderating the Rose Forum (and I think maybe other forums also). I noticed when someone has a question about a particular rose or a problem with one, you take the time to research and post the necessary informational link, as well as offer your own advice, based on your own personal experience and knowledge. I find that very "commendable".
Also, just from the chat on different topics, and from a post, here a while back, I believe you said you have around 1700+ roses that you grow and tend to. That's Astounding".
You have to be the busiest person I "never: met. I am thinking that maybe you have been "cloned" Hilarious!
Just want to say thanks!!! Thank You! Acorn

I couldn't agree more. I agree Zuzu is very consistent, a stand out in all respects. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.
Kind regards
John

As our wonderful zuzu said, this is not harmful to the rose at all. Proliferation can be caused by unstable weather, and who hasn't had that this spring, but it can also be caused by too much nitrogen that causes overly rapid vegetative growth in the rose. My Quietness gave me a rose in a rose once. It was cool!

I also grow Crown Princess Margarita here in Menton, France, zone 10a. It seems very happy here, blooms well. More of an apricot-yellow than a true yellow.

All the others you mentioned we grow in England, but it's zone 8b there.
