It looks like most of mine made the winter so far, if they survive this wet cold spell I should be doing well. I did loose one of my seedlings I planted last year, and it looks like the main rhizome of Stitches is lost, but there's two increases that should make it. Crossing Fingers! I planted seven new Siberian irises, the one by the house is starting to show growth, the others farther out are not showing anything yet.

This is what I lost since last season: Get a Gander to weird rot disease that came in on bought Rhizome. Usually I can save them if this happens but it took out another plant before I figured it out!
So also lost Cool Response due to spread of disease.
In addition I lost Green Oasis due to bloom out last Spring. So far the rest of the gang appears to be all here. But I plan to do some head counts tomorrow to see for sure.

Ev: I can replace Quail Ale for you. I promise it is not in my Rot Garden. I won't five anything from there until I am certain that issue is a thing of the past!

I didn't lose much, but I haven't done a total check . There are over 750 and it's daunting to check them all. I do think I've lost Western Edge also, Ev, but Nelly Tardivier has responded to more water and fertilizer, and I'm grateful for her two sturdy new increases.

I'm leaving tags of the few suspected losses, in hopes that some are just slow to respond. I've had good results with my potted iris and they'll fill in after the soil is amended in empty spots.

Oh Evelyn, that is a lot of losses! Sad

So far, I've only found one loss: 'Aegean Wind'. It was leftover from the club sale last summer, so I'm sure I could get a replacement if I wanted one. I think the rhizome never survived the transplant. No rot, no bugs, no winter heave... the only thing left is the outer "skin" of the rhizome.

Scott ~ Thank you.

Jan ~ I am sorry about some of those you sent me.

I still have plenty of irises, so no worries. My seedlings are doing especially well, so far, even those in pots.

I did a walk through and Spring cleanup last week and the list of lost ones continues to grow. When I have more time I'll write their names down, but they have been crossed out on my maps.

Sorry others are experiencing garden losses too.

Not too long ago, in February, we were all hoping for rain...now it is too wet, cold and muddy to get in the garden today...or even the month of March! Well, at least this will stave off the drought we were anticipating.

Rob! Hi! I hope you didn't get any flooding.

The rain has washed off all but the last remnants of snow. It is quite soggy out now, and it looks like the rain stopped for now.

I can't tell yet if I have any losses, but after this last rain I sure have a lot more leaf spot than I did when it hadn't rained for weeks. Glare

Evelyn, I just checked on Adriatic Waves. I'm pretty sure I'll have one for you this summer.
