I bought a cluster from Beck's last year, and now am waiting to see what survived.
The other half planted them, then I replanted them more the way they should be,so losses will not be a surprise but survivors will be.
Either way I may dig up the whole garden, partly to redo paver stones, that should have been done when the garden was dug up two years ago, that are part of a decoration.
There was not an ice-cap on that garden this year, as there is more often than not, which I am sure causes problems, so I am expecting a better survival rate than I was when I planted.

Irises are putting out leaves now , so I know which are still alive and which are kaput.
With a large empty spot, it will be interesting to see how may, if any , I bought last year came through.
I am going to have to figure out where to put some for next year as between tulips and iris a lot of empty holes plus Sharon just bought 8 Peony for this fall and she is going to redo a lot also.
That empty roof drip line is annoying ; if I could find a not ugly, according to Sharon, way of saving the water I would.
I may spend bigger bucks for a full wine or whiskey barrel/s to put there.

I've got underground drip irrigation. Every time I go to dig up an iris, I have to find the drip line first and sure enough, it is where I want to put my shovel in. The iris roots get tangled with the drip lines and it is much more work than it should be. I am thinking about having visible drip lines or sprinklers in my future beds, connecting to tank water of course.

I recommend going with the visible drip lines. They give better coverage and lead to less leaf spot than sprinklers. I've got sprinklers and would gladly trade them for drip lines.

I installed visible drip lines in my field beds. I hold the lines down with little wire "U" I made from a spool of wire. When it's time to dig, or if the iris has grown into the lines, I pull out the "U" pins and move the line(s) out of the way.

As for lost irises this year, the list is over 100+ this year.

Too many losses talked about!
Winter was weird with no protective snow cover at all, lots of freeze heaving. Then spring has been wet with leaf spot already. Despite all it appears I lost only a few, but they were some rarities I was nursing along:
Égée by Vilmorin 1925
Peachblow by Sass 1942
Sapphire by Dykes 1922

And not doing well so far:
Sultan's Robe by Salbach 1943
Antares by Vilmorin 1927
Amber by dykes 1924

No North American sellers of these so Sad

Today, I worked on updating my "have" list on here and placed the dead/removed irises into their folders.

So you've wondered what I have lost, it's all listed here: https://garden.org/lists/view/... I may have missed a few SDB's, as I need to recheck those.

What a list, Rob. Sad I might be able to give you IRRESISTIBLE CHARM, but I'd have to check. It will be small, though.
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom
