I just recently put this swing on a rug on the patio and now noticed that it wicks moisture after a rain and stays wet Sad Any ideas on how I can fix this, don't want it to rot my wood out. I really don't want to get rid of the rug, I put it there for my disabled son to have a play space.

You could put some kind of plastic lid/saucer under the legs as a barrier between the legs and the rug.

agree, I think just make a barrier between the wood and the rug
Plant it and they will come.

You should cover table legs with rubber caps/tips. It will protect wooden furniture.

I have that same problem with the walls of my gardem shed that touch the cement foundation.

I have the same problem, Frill. I saved plastic lids from coffee cans, etc., and cut them to size to create a barrier between the rug and the chair. Keeps my iron table legs from leaving a rusty ring, too.
Also, you could paint the bottom of the legs with 'Flex Seal'. It comes in white, black, and even clear. It give it a rubber, water proof finish.

I buy PVC 1"x4"x8' boards (comes in various sizes) at Lowes or HoneDepot to place under misc. outside wood objects sitting on top of soil or concrete. Easily cut with carpentry tools. Been doing it since 2009. Keeps moisture from wicking into wood and from concrete. P.S. Building codes require a vapor barrier between concrete foundations and wood, even for sheds.

They actually make little "coasters" for table and chair legs. You can probably find them Lowes or Home Depot.

It is what I use on my redwood furniture outside.

I have also used

If you have a Ollie's store I picked it up for 1.99. Works great water just rolls off.

Which ever ,method you use make sure you coat the bottom on the leg with a extra coat because it is sitting on the wet carpet.
