When I saw it today I remember what happened, it needs a little more shade than it gets now, it did great until late summer and the sun just fried it.

Another bluish hosta with red legs you might like is Evening Blush, it takes about 4 years to come into its own.

Well the pictures are great and the plants are interesting but
I see no blooms so I gather these are a foliage plant.
Still wondering how they do with heat and humidity.

Hostas are known primarily as a foliage plant, however they do bloom, some of which are fragrant, the foliage will also have subtle color changes thought the year. Some breeders are also concentrating on the flowers.

@Willinator see if this helps. https://www.plantdelights.com/...
I am sure they would have to have full shade by you and would have to watch watering. The main thing is does your area have 30 days that are cold enough cold days.

The one that looks real interesting to me is Hosta plantaginea 'Ming's Treasure'
I like the look of the white blooms and the foliage. I guess all of them will
bloom. and the website has lots of warm weather hostas. Now if they are required
to have cold days during the year? How cold and how many? Houston does on occasion
get some freezing days during a year, principally in January and early February

All my Hosta look very sad right now, we had snow last night and on and off today and most plants look damaged. Also wind chills were in the low 20's and very windy. Hope they recover most had just opened up in the last week,

These early summer like temps brought my plants out of dormancy too early. I only saw a few mushy leaves yesterday from the cold evening temps. Down to 34• tonight, so may have more damage.

Here's a few from yesterday. Well, maybe more than a few! Hilarious!

I meant to ask, does anybody remember where CitySylvia was from? She lived in Texas and grew Hostas. I think she was even featured in a magazine.
