Very pretty. I didn't do so well with the wl's this year. Hubs tried something new - I am not sure if that is the problem or if it is something else.

Jonna-I've noticed Dauben is hard to get good pictures of. It washes out unless I use filters or other techniques to bring out the color.

Love the color changing lilies, tabby. I haven't noticed any of mine doing that, but now I'm going to watch and see.

Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, "In this world, Elwood, you must be" - she always called me Elwood - "In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant." Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me.

I got another pic of the Dauben early this morning. At least you can see the blue tint a little better.

My pink tropical lilies are blooming this morning!
She blooms every week
Does anyone know what kind of pink lilies is this? Persian lilac/star pink lilies?

One thing that makes quite dissapointment is the flower cant get bigger only 2 inch although the leaves are quite big 4.5inch
Is there anything i can do to make it bigger? Or is it originally small flowers with big leaves? Please help me :)

Hendrik - do you fertilize your waterlilies? It may help as waterlilies are heavy feeders. Your waterlily may also be predisposed to the size flowers that you are seeing. Typically when buying waterlilies from a reputable source, the bloom size will be listed.

Gorgeous photos.

You can buy waterlily fertilizer tabs. I would be afraid to use anything else if you have any fish in your watergarden.

Wonderful! My lotus seems to have stalled, lots of large floating leaves but no aerial leaves yet and of course, no blooms. Thumbs down It's nice to see your blooms, I'm envious.

@carol : thanx carol... sure it is Lovey dubby

@jonna : maybe u must wait a lil bit more jonna.. my opinion is just give them sunlight min at least 4 hours and raise their water level it can promote the aerial leaves from my experience

@carolyn : thank u carolyn... im so stunned with it *Blush*

Thanks Hendrik, I have now raised the water level about 3 cm. I don't have the space to raise it a lot, hopefully this will do it. They are in full sun, on my roof garden, and the water is quite warm already. I'm hoping it is not too deep, not sure what is the right depth. I felt that the previous years they were in too shallow a pot so this year I put them in the pond which is actually a large cattle trough. There is about 40cm of water over the top of the pot now. I still don't see any new leaves coming up, the older leaves are getting kind of worn and straggly, I cut some of the smaller, yellower ones off today. I fertilize it about every 10 days. We'll see.

Jonna

Lets wait and see :)
Mine only around 20 cm of water level (quite deep too)
Dont give them fertilizer every 10 days, give them spare time 14 days.
If too much and too fast fertilizing your lotus will suffer burnt. Leaves become yellow and brownish very soon.

Wanna see your lotus pictures if u dunt mind Thumbs up

I took these pics this morning. There are 2 tubers at either end of this pond. They are both in fairly large, round plastic tubs with good compost and soil.
Thumb of 2014-04-07/extranjera/a501ec

on this picture, if you enlarge it you can see the darker line around the top which is the amount I have raised the normal water level. I can raise it fairly safely right now because we are not yet in the rainy season but I will have to lower it when the heavy rains start or it can overflow before I get to it.
Thumb of 2014-04-07/extranjera/96010e

and this is the whole pond, water trough on my roof.
