YUMMY!!! My two favorite snacks - cheese cake and ice cream -- all rolled into one! Hilarious!

Two of my favorites also!

My second seedling bloomed, and it's amazing compared to the first one! It's still nothing special, but I was so happy to see that it wasn't totally horrible!

Thanks Rita! I can't believe you said that though! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing You are too kind! My husband loves it, and he's hardly ever commented on one of the beautiful daylilies that I have!

I've got the ice cream making crazies! I've got to go stock up on supplies to make more!

Thank you Cindy! It's really not special at all, but it's a lot different than anything I've got, so it's welcome to stay for now. I'm really surprised that it turned out okay, considering how ugly my first seedling was! My husband has named it Splitfiire, which fits!

Christine, that was too funny! I'm shocked that he even noticed it, and he has mentioned it several times already! The only thing in the yard that he gets excited over is a clematis that is growing on the side of the house. I'm not even sure that he's noticed the hundreds of other flowers in the yard!

I'm going to take your advice though and make a special tag just for this one. Maybe that way, he'll get more excited about all the others!

That was exactly what I was thinking... the only thing my DH ever notices is if I take the hose out and water the daylilys/hostas...... and it is NEVER a nice comment! LOL!! Whistling Whistling

My DH actually said yesterday, "The plants back there look a little dry. Maybe they need some water?" I just about fell over dead! The only reason he saw them was because the ball he had thrown for the dog had bounced in there! It was a special moment!

Natalie - I like the shape of your bicolor seedling. It looks like it might be a spatulate. The photos of your other daylilies look pretty. I especially like America's Most Wanted and Wild Horses.

Thanks Debra! I've never even heard of spatulate before, so I'll have to look that one up! Thanks for the nice comments on the others, too. America's Most Wanted put on a very nice show for me, and Wild Horses is so pretty!

Thanks!! I had two more bloom this morning that I really like, but I'll have to wait until later to post pictures. We have to pick Bailey up from the vet. She got spayed yesterday, and it was very strange last night without her here, but it was nice and quiet, which I loved!

I just told my DH that everyone likes the name Splitfire, and he is so proud of himself! He said, "Hey, I really do come up with great ideas once in a while!" Rolling on the floor laughing

Your seedling is very nice Natalie.

Do you recall that I shared some of my first seeds with my e-mail friend in Tucson? Anyway Linda (quietyard) did a great job with the seeds and got the seedlings to bloom in about 8 months, one of them reminded me of yours, first bloom on that seedling measured 10 inches, later ones were 7 inches. Next week I must post the photos she sent me, she has dial up so that is why I will do the posting.

I am going to the lake tomorrow for a few days. Hurray!

Thanks Margaret! I can't wait to see the seedling photos! A 10 inch bloom would make me pass out!

Bailey is home from the vet, and she's been running around like normal. Anyone know where the off switch is on a Lab? She really needs to rest, so this is going to be a LONG day!

Below are my 3rd & 4th seedlings to bloom, and I was SO HAPPY when I saw them! DH has named the first one Pinkilishous, which cracked me up! It sounded rather girly, especially coming from him! I seriously doubt I spelled that right, but it's made up, so who cares? It was so funny when I told him that I had 2 new blooms! He walked faster than normal out there, took one look, got a little excited and proclaimed, "It's naming time!!" He then spit out the word Pinkilishous! I couldn't stop laughing! A little later I asked him what he thought the other one should be named, and he said that he hadn't really looked at it all that closely! Just when I thought I was making progress with him.....

Anyway, I'm just happy that I got a pink seedling. I took the photo early this morning, and it wasn't totally open yet, but I was happy! The second one stunned me by being a double! The pollen parent, Condilla, is a double, but I just thought it would be something horrible, and brown, when it bloomed!

Sue Rothbauer X Catherine Woodbery (aka Pinkilishous). I really love this one!

Sue Rothbauer X Condilla. This one is a really yummy yellow color and I really like it!
