Thanks! I have really gotten the veggie garden crazies back this year .

Hah! You should see my pea attempts! If they sprout, and that' a big enough *if* in itself, they go up like a yellowish-green floppy string, make one pea pod and promptly keel over. Sad, sad, sad. I tried some lovely hybrid (ornamental) sweet peas this spring...they grew great until it was almost time to bloom. The plant went yellow, made one sickly looking bloom...and yep, you guessed it, promptly died.

Humm, I wonder why that happens. Peas are really easy.

My guess would be they're frying in chelle's heat and drought

It does get really hot, really fast in the springtime. Funny thing is tho', my seed started pansies are still gorgeous! No signs of any stress whatsoever.

That coleus that you're disappointed with looks lovely to me.

The plants are doing great but just not as much visual punch as I imagined.

chelle, my lilies are already done here this year. Yours look lovely and I like the gladiolia too.

Thanks, Rita. I'm not sure if they'll always bloom this late (they're new, and conditions weren't even close to perfect), but I wouldn't mind a bit if they did. I'm really enjoying the longer lily season this year.

I went today and bought two bags of composted cow manure and two bags of compost and just spread them out on the new tomato garden from this spring. I know the tomatoes love compost so I am sure this is good for that little garden area. Hot and humid out there, just like a steam bath!

Jo Ann ,Not to bragg or anything,buttt...WE GOT RAIN,like 3 times....OH Me...Had to mow the front yard...whoaaa,1st time since may...Hoping you got some rain out of these systems that are moving East...Golly what a difference rain water makes...

I still have no ripe Tomato`s.....tons and tons of fruit tho anytime now.....

I would tend to think Chelle`s peas are not liking this heat either...
