My cherry tomatoes rarely make it into the house! Rolling on the floor laughing Only if there are more than a handful. Otherwise I pick em, rinse em with the hose and then wander the garden looking for other interesting things and eat em while I do it!

Fresh tomato season is too short Smiling

Drooling Somehow you just can't DO that with cherry tomatoes (which is all I have ripe at the moment). It's just not the same, no matter how thick you slice those little marbles! Hilarious!

We're still getting a few small Matinas and a few Snow White every day. We've only had 2 ripe beefsteaks.

Had a storm today with around 1/2 " of rain. Thumbs up Like so many things, the tomato plants are frying in the heat, leaves are getting crunchy. It was 97° today.

I'm getting more Snow Whites now than we can eat and give away. Enough Matinas too, though smaller than they should be. Few beefsteaks though.

I used a bunch of sliced up cherry tomatoes in with my very first zucchini of the season for dinner last night. Yum! Got lots of cherry tomatoes ready for eating, and a few beefsteaks getting close. What I find amusing is that the two plants that I ever so carefully nurtured and tucked into my earthbox look just wonderful: lovely, big green luscious plants.....and very little fruit yet. While the poor little neglected plants that languished in their tiny little 4" pots till I took pity on them and stuffed them into some bigger pots.......ha ha ha ha! Where do you think I'm getting the tomatoes to eat right now? Hilarious! Silly things!

I have tons of huge, green tomatoes. So far, the only ones that have started to ripen are my Jean's Pride (an orange beefsteak type) and Goose Creek (one of my favorites for taste). None of the red or purple beefsteak types are anywhere close to being ripe, although the fruits are huge! Can't wait!!!

Mine are all in Earthboxes, too, Woofie. I'm grateful for the automated watering system this year--best year for tomatoes in 3 or 4 years, in spite of our wicked drought conditions.
