I can't put this off any longer, or I'll run out of July.
My friend and I went to a private collector's garden near Cape Girardeau on July 1st. It was my slightly late birthday present to myself.
My most gracious host (who I had met only by phone) picked us up as the tow truck carted off my vehicle after it broke down in Cape. He took us to lunch, to the dealership to check on the car, to his garden 20 miles away, and then back to the dealer. (They apparently botched a recall job a month earlier, and the gear shifter could not possibly have picked a better place to freeze up than only 2 miles from the dealership, in a town 2 hours from my home. The dealer charged nothing and picked up the towing bill.) We had such a nice day, we all went out to supper together after my car was retrieved.
Since I have about 50 photos to post, I'll split them between today, tomorrow and the next day.
