Another of TI-152-B from another garden section. It has nice form I think, but probably not enough ruffles for Thomas.



A few experiments with stripes:

TI-73-A -
and
TI-63-A - open this one up. It has a neat gold rim on the style arms. Needs better form, but the edged arms are cool.



Another in the TI series but missed capturing the entire seedling number. Carries on the pansy pattern of Medal of Honor.




And TI-98-A, which has a similar pattern to some on the market but is bright and cheerful. I like blue and white together on iris.

I like TI-73-A.

Well, it is wet and cold out so I figure it is a good time to look at pretty iris.

I have a bunch of pics still to go from Mid-America. Most are seedlings that may or may not ever get introduced. That said, there are some beauties out there in the fields of Mid-America!

These three are all Black seedlings for which I only have partial tags. They make a nice little group together I think.



This is a nice luminata! They had a large varity of them growing this year.

A couple of field shots of the main fields by Thomas' house. As you can see, there were many early to mid TB's blooming.



Just look at all those rows in the background too!

Assuming I have the seedling numbering system correct, these two are sibs. I like seeing the sanded falls in a different color. So many are in the purple range.

Z-95-B: The falls remind me of Dare Me in a different color. That is a good thing in my book! And the veining in the standards rocks. I would buy this one in a heartbeat.

Guess that TK-90-A was popular with the hybridizer guests staying with Thomas. Lots of crosses were made from it. Besides tags left on the plants you could find a lot of torn off falls such as the one below.

Lots of awesome ones, love the speckles and agree that Z95-B is a keeper.

Here are two of Paul's that are interesting.

First up is Z-175-A, which I am curious about because Paul's field tag has "MTB?". If so, it is quite a ruffled one.


The other is a cross with Byzantine Beauty which makes it part aril. Nice soft color to it.

Going to end for the day with two of Thomas' that I really like.

I really like these blending iris. Why do they so often have yellow standards? Most of Burseen's blends end up with yellow tops too. Anyone know the reason for the standard color?
