When we think of plants and gardens we must (should) not restrict ourselves to only flowers, trees and other blooming plants. I cannot imagine a summer without fresh vegetables from my own patch! What better way to enjoy a V-8 than to pick it from the garden?

Thanks everyone for your comments & thumbs. Summer is a very busy gardening season for many. Especially me; I can't keep up with everything! (anything) D'Oh! Not everyone has the time, resources or space to grow a vegetable garden. But if you can it is so rewarding to pick home grown veggies. There is no comparison in quality, taste or freshness! And I realize it is rare for a banner to feature vegetables. But why should fruits and vegetables be treated differently from trees, shrubs and flowers? We need them all for our health and happiness. This is the photo I made the banner from.

This was another picture that might have made a more proper banner.

Summer is a busy time for all gardeners everywhere. There is so much going on it seems impossible to keep up with everything. I can relate to varying schedules, jobs, family, weather and time zones for all gardeners in distant places. Special thanks to @cliftoncat @dirtdorphins @Fleur569 @GaNinFl @ScotTi for your generous gifts of acorns. Leon ~ Thank You! so much for sharing your beautiful veggie garden with all of us!

Those of us who have grown or are currently growing vegetables know the effort involved.

I now grow my tomatoes and squash in large pots, as irises have taken over the Square Foot Gardens! *Blush*

Still, one cannot be without fresh summer vegetables.

New to this website...in zone 5,central-northern Michigan. After a bitte, late winter,we had a late wet spring. Flowers and veggies are catching up quickly, and I hope to have a moderately nice harvest.
