Wow, that's an amazing list! Very nice.

I'll dig through this early this week. I think my robot might need to hit a few of these registries, too.

Holy Molly Monica, fantastic. Seeing that list just makes me smile.

Here's a kavb link to their search engine which can save some time. http://kavb.back2p.soft-orange...

Evan, thanks, I did see that link, but didn't know if I should add it. It is an easier search though. I edited the previous post to include it now.

Also sent a snippy email under my own name to the RHS, asking why other much poorer organizations could put their info online for free while the filthy-rich RHS charged high prices.

Again, under my own name, I emailed the Brooklyn Botanical Garden to ask why there were so few cultivars listed. They have responsibility for an amazing number of woodies, including citrus. That wasn't snippy, just wondering if I'd missed something.

Will share any replies.

I just finished removing the synonym names from the sempervivum. My only concern is when some one tries to search a semp using one of the synonym names, they won't be able to find it.

I just found out how to enter the Latin synonyms in the database, big improvement overall! Thumbs up

But.. when I had filled in all the synonyms of Cirsium arvense and another Common name I found on this reliable website
http://www.botanicalkeys.co.uk...
but when I clicked on submitted it send me to Cisium setosum which is also in the database as an accepted name, in that way I lost the names I had filled in under Cirsium arvense.. Blinking

If I understand you correctly, you were adding several new latin names to a single plant, but one of the names turned out to be a duplicate already existing in the database. When that happened, it erased all the other additional names you had added, too?

There wasn't and that wouldn't have worked.

In response to this, I have re-worked that page so that if you get the error message, it will NOT remove all your items you had added. This should fix it so what happened won't happen again. Smiling

I have filled in the synonyms again and I didn't loose them when submitting but the system still wants to take me to the other entry Cirsium setosum which is a synonym and not an accepted name. What to do now?

http://garden.org/plants/propo...

I see that the link doesn't show it, here is a screenshot..

In a case like this, Myriam, you first have to propose the deletion of Cirsium setosum, explaining that it's a synonym. After that has been approved, you'll have no problem proposing your changes to Cirsium arvense. (I would have done this for you, but it wouldn't help you in the future when you run across the same type of case Smiling )

I'm excited about Myriam filling in the synonyms! That's a good rainy day project for everyone, and it's a good way to earn acorns.
