Judd Viburnum

This viburnum is commonly known as the Judd Viburnum. Its botanical name is Viburnum carlesii var. bitchiuense. Viburnums are in a genus of at least one hundred+ varieties of shrubs or small trees. For gardeners (and landscapers) who are not faint of heart (and have adequate space) this makes an excellent addition to gardens and yards. Bloom fragrance is a very pleasant powder puff scent from late April well into May. Shrubs provide habitat for nesting song birds and winter roosts for all. Photos to follow.

@TBGDN Leon,

Beautiful banner. Lovey dubby

Thank you for the memories your banner brings to me. My beloved and late parents had that particular plant at two of their houses. The fragrance of the flowers is wonderful and the flowers are beautiful. Hurray!

Thank you for posting your pics. Thumbs up

Isn't it interesting how things like trees and plants bring back sacred memories of our parents and others we were once near to? I have long believed that gardens and plants are part of the fabric of life which holds and forms us as we mature from childhood to adult. And I also feel very special memories like Marilyn's are kept as treasures in our hearts. Just a thought...... Smiling

To the following individuals please accept my sincere thanks for your acorns, thumbs, thoughtful comments and interest. I have always felt gardens, landscapes and yards are 'dead' without human interest and activity. They add so many benefits to our environment. And the greatest benefits are exercise, education and creativity. (I might add "building friendships" too.) It is amazing what can be done with nature's "paint brush" and a set of garden tools.Thank you; bootandall, dirtdorphins, Fleur569, Frenchy21, GaNinFl, greenappleagnes, JHeirloomSeeds, Krobra, lovemyhouse, Marilyn, Mutisia, pirl, plantmanager, tx_flower_child, vic, wildflowers, William and zuzu.
