Autumn 2019 doesn't actually start until Sept. 23 which is later than usual, but since it will be difficult for me to start the new thread then I'll start it early. If you'd like to look back on where we were, go to:

I moved over to Autumn also. Wishing it was still summer weather. Last night was so chilly overnight and tonight is expected to be the same so it sure feels like Autumn.

Here too. Smiling

Exercise is still mostly inside and outside, had to vacuum the main floor yesterday, D H usually does it but he is off on a fishing trip, that was a tough job, we have really thick carpet and my arm is still sore from all the pruning I did on the willow tree.

I sure wish for a few cool days! It's hot as hell out there, still highs in the upper 80s.

I worked in the yard for several hours. Unfortunately, I didn't accomplish much. We're planning to close up one flower bed this fall, hopefully. The yard work is just becoming too much for us. This morning I dug up and divided an old kniphofia, transplanting as two pieces. It has been there forever, took forever to dig.

First my husband dug an old ornamental grass from the bed where I wanted to transplant the kniphofia. It took me so long just to cut that up and break up for the compost. This stuff takes me 10 times longer than it used to. Angry

I had to vacuum the first floor after that, too. Whenever we do yard work, we seem to drag half the yard back inside with us.

Yup, it takes us all longer to get that yard work done as we get older. But we keep working on it!!

Still feeling tired. The test showed that I have mild sleep apnea. 'Mild' may not sound like much but I get sleep deprived and functionless very easily, much more than the average person. The doctor thinks I can be fixed with surgery and not have to use a CPAP for the rest of my life. The surgery will also open my nose and sinuses more, which I could use regardless of sleep apnea. The office needs to get back with me on available dates. This will be done at a surgery center. I dread the recovery period, but that's the way it has to be.

I hope it helps you, Kelli.

When I complained that I couldn't get enough sleep, they diagnosed me with mild sleep apnea, too. I got an oral appliance to wear at night (Herbst device) . I still wake up long before dawn. They're next suggestion was to take an antidepressant to make me sleep. No thanks. Glare

I'm always sleepy. I woke up at 4:30 this morning.

Good morning from Berlin. Yesterday was pretty well lost in transit. We flew on points this trip, but despite booking last January, were unable to get all the way to Berlin on points; so we took the train from Frankfurt to Berlin. At the start of a weekend, it was crowded though we had seats. We had enough time in Frankfurt that we tried to get on an earlier train; but we couldn't reserve seats and certainly didn't want to stand for the distance.. As it was, we had to boot some people out of our seats when we boarded. Good thing DH speaks German quite well. I can get by if I have to, but am nowhere close to as fluent as he is.

We were lucky to get to our hotel by taxi as masses of people were gathering quite close by for the climate change rally and we had ringside seats of a huge parade of protesters from the restaurant last night. It took about 20 minutes for them all to pass by. We stayed at the same hotel in 2011 and found it conveniently located, though there has been quite a lot of new construction in the area since. It's located in what was no-man's land during the era of the Berlin wall. Interestingly enough, the restaurant we went to is a traditional German restaurant located in about the same location as we recalled one from before, but the building is new. We both like matjes herring and it's on our list when we get to Germany.

We don't have many specific plans for this visit; so we'll see what we do. DH is still sleeping, I got up with the alarm which still gave me a good sleep.

We worked in the yard for hours. I got quite a workout. Plus, it's 90 degrees out there. At least there's a little breeze today, and the humidity isn't quite so high. Fingers crossed for rain tomorrow morning. Crossing Fingers!
There's a 60% chance.

For those who have trouble staying asleep:

I've recently bought this quick dissolve melatonin:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C3Q5JVE/

The past two nights I woke up around 3 a.m. and couldn't fall back to sleep. I took one of these quick dissolving melatonin and DID fall back to sleep within about an hour, maybe less.

Karen, glad to hear that the quick dissolve melatonin helped you sleep. Thumbs up I had another good sleep without aid, got about 7 hours, and DH was happy to get 5 or so solid hours.

I take the Natrol brand of the melatonin gummies. 10 mg total (2 gummies before bed). I have not really noticed that it is helping.........I STILL wake up about 1:30 and from then on it's a crapshoot if I go back to sleep or have to read till 3 or 4 am. Grumbling I'll use up those gummies, but not buy any more. I thought I'd try melatonin again. Thought it might help this time. I was wrong. Sticking tongue out

You might want to try the quick dissolve one at 1:30 a.m. when you wake up. It works really fast. At least, I'm thinking it's looking promising for me. Shrug!

If I wake up at 2 or 3 a.m., left to my own devices, I almost never fall back to sleep.
