I talked to Trish and she likes the idea of raffling off a box of goodies from her store! So, she is going to put a box together of all kinds of goodies and then I'll post a photo and description of it and we'll start that raffle off!!

Trying to wrap my mind around the thought of tomato soap.

I do have a tomato soap, actually.

Funny thing: all my customers curl up their nose at it, much like I imagine the two of you just did.

However, everyone that was given some to try have been diehard fans of it.

It's very rich and creamy, and gentle on the skin. I'm not sure if I'm going to make more, though....it's too much work to talk people into trying it!

Awww, come on Trish, now we all want to try tomato soap. I would give it a try, who knows, it might become my new favorite soap.

My mother used to make soap, and I have trouble wrapping my mind around goat's milk soap, let alone tomato soap. But I know goat's milk soap is very nice because I have some a friend gave me. So I have an open mind (full of holes, doncha know! ) about tomato soap. Hmmm, have visions of planting a bar of tomato soap and having very clean tomatoes.........

I haven't tried Trish's, but I have used BB's.

I love goat's mild soap. That is what I use. Now I just have to try the tomato soap.

Soaping is really just a big science (chemistry) experiment. Finding the combinations of ingredients that play well together to give the end result. Soap is really just a chemical reaction with the fats/oils.

Milk used as the liquid gives extra fats which most of us like (extra moisture). BTW- as Daisy can attest to, cow milk gives a much more moisture-rich soap because it is fattier. The name "goats milk" is trendy, but cow milk is where it's at.

Th tomato soap is made by puree tomatoes as the liquid. The tomato's sugar content with the cream/milk makes it creamy and lathery (made up word).
