I am thinking though, that your Fata Morgana is a variant caused by genetic drift, probably in the tissue culture stage. Most likely not misnamed, but just not true to the original, which is not so unusual. At least for doubles, this is an older cultivar, and the Lily register would have stated that spotting was faint if it was. But it does not. I procured mine 19 years ago, about seven years after its introduction. Yours also has less developed extra petals in comparison.
