Thanks everyone. Its raining again this morning so I will finish my seed planting this morning. It has rained so many days in a row until I can't remember when it hasn't rained, and now there's a storm headed for the Gulf.
This is the bud builder I posted a while back. Yesterday I cut the scape off and moved it to the hybridizing area, it was still building and blooming. It had bloomed 26 times so it will have over a 30 bud count.
Thumb of 2012-08-04/spunky1/ed46a7
Also cut the scape and moved this one
Thumb of 2012-08-04/spunky1/5a56e1
And this one, it had 9 prolifs on it, I potted those.
Thumb of 2012-08-04/spunky1/d781a8
This was the last of the two year olds to be moved
now I can get the bed cleaned out and ready for the babies.

Fred, all of them are amazing! I couldn't begin to pick a favorite, even though they are all so different! And the thought of planting 1400 seeds makes me want faint! I have a hard time getting 8 seeds planted in this heat! Lucky you, getting 9 prolifs on such a stunning beauty! I haven't had even one this year!

Thanks everyone, Got the first two year old seedling bed cleaned out and ready to rework, hooked the tiller to the tractor and hope to start on it today if the ground dries up a little. Got another 1.50" of rain yesterday afternoon, but the good news, the storm is moving west.

Well, I'm keeping my rain. We are having problems with our well pump (someone didn't hook the wiring up right in the main breaker box) so we can't water until at least Wednesday when an electrician can come fix it.

I have had problems with our well before and I know the feeling, but with another hard rain yesterday at 2pm I haven't had to run ours very much. The problem with all the rain is getting the seedling beds prepared, I want to start planting this week end and I need the ground to dry a little before tilling. The forecast is drier the rest of the week, we will see.

It's getting pretty bad when I have to take photos of scapes because of no blooms. This should be open this morning, the bloom may not be much to look at but I do like the scape and the parents.
