I have HEAT -- and it's supposed to go up to 110 this weekend! Our winters are not that cold anymore, and NORTH WIND DANCER is a dormant so it needs colder winters. Some winters it never gets down to freezing here, but my sis lives 20 miles away in the foothills and she gets down to freezing a few times each winter. Jim Murphy told me once that he didn't think dormants would do well for me because it doesn't get cold enough here, and each year the blooms would get smaller, etc. And I think that's what's happening. Since you're in Minnesota I think yours will do just fine!

That could be the problem for sure. I think North Wind Dancer was hybridized in Minnesota.

Betty, I have lots of freezing weather in the winter, so maybe you need to send North Wind Dancer to me. I'll be the foster parent, of course, and I'll give you liberal visitation rights! nodding Blinking Whistling Hilarious!

LVT has been treated but want know if it took until it blooms in 2013.
Back to the seedlings. Started cleaning the last bed yesterday, did not get finished due to rain again, I know this sounds like a broken record but the rain has stopped me everyday for over a month. I am going to take the weekend off, weather is suppose to get better Monday and seedlings should be dry enough to remove from the trays and put in the ground.

It's rained here every afternoon like clockwork. We get a little work done and then it storms about the same time every day.

Michele, I really love days like that! Not only does it help water, but it gets you out of doing more work! I know you are hoping to get things done though, so you can send the rain to the rest of us. I had about 20 raindrops yesterday morning, and another 20 yesterday evening. It was awesome!

Fred - If you're forced to photograph scapes because of no blooms, that scape on Seedlng 210 X Dove in Flight is a great one. Very nice branching! Seedling 210 sure has a pretty bloom. I'm impressed that you were able to convert Lillian's Thin Ice to a tet. I'd love the get the tet version of that one.

Thanks for all the comments, I must go look at the above mentioned seedlings.
As for TET THIN ICE it will be while before it leaves here, I am saving the pollen from every bloom, I know Kim and James will want some so each bloom goes in a different vial.
I really did take two days off and spent it with the Georges, no rain here today so the first 1000 babies will go in the ground tomorrow. I am five days later than I was last year due to rain.

It didn't rain here today but took 2 days off, had the granddaughter over (she's 4). We did go to James' for a few hours today because they had 2 of their granddaughters over so they could all play.

Got the first seedlings in the ground by 11am yesterday and at noon got a half inch of rain, the only rain I have been happy about in sometime. Got the last seeding bed completed yesterday afternoon thanks to my son coming by to help me. Had to dig out about 800 two year old daylilies before I could rework the bed with pine bark, lime, and fertilizer.
