Summer Ends

The cooler days of October have ended the display in the zinnia patch. Gone are the bees and butterflies which love these food sources. They will return next year to enjoy them again. And so will I.

One of the most dependable blooms in the garden, tough as a cowboy, yet delicate like a dancing ballerina. The varieties are also so impressive. You sized them up perfectly for a banner. Love 'em. 🌺 🌺 🌺 🌺 🌺

Thanks ladies for your kind words. I like zinnias because of their dependability, beauty and attraction to bees and butterflies. If you want butterflies plant some zinnias. The photo I used for this banner was taken August 18, 2019 when the blooms were at their peak. This year they lasted well into October providing color and food for many insects. Here are some photos of the zinnia patch. The banner was taken from the first one. The other pictures illustrate some colors and details.
