I like the green version best too. The longer bumps are most impressive!

Bev,

The one last fall is another bumpy seedling and it has turned more purple this spring too.. It has the most persistent bumps.

Still feeling good here in Salem. Out to do weeding after lunch!

Kevin, must have been hard to be hybridizing dad and choose between two "wanting-to-impress-Dad" seedling siblings! So, one is slated to go onto fame and the other (green one) stays home?

Disappointed to say the least, but understand.
Melissa, I am just a bit farther away than you. When this is over I want to go to Salem too.
In the meantime photos will have to do.
Kevin Amazing ..... every one of them for different reasons. I did have to smile at that monster surrounded by all the normal sized ones..kind of like the kid who is 6 ft tall in 5th grade.
Thanks for posting the photos. I took some yesterday too but very not happy with them. I got this Samsung phone because it is supposed to have a great camera. Either I am not figuring out how to use it properly or it's not all that great. (probably the former) all the pictures look over exposed or taken in too much sunlight. They were actually taken just after sunset as I thought the lower light level might help with the over exposed look. So...I don't want to post any till I get it right. What is the point of showing you a seedling that in the photo looks pale blue with a pink edge when actually the plant is deep slate grey with a deep red edge. I'll keep working on it.
Big hugs to everyone Group hug

Pretty pics Kevin, Bev and Lynn... I think that was everyone?
Ricos when you go to take a picture hold your finger inside the frame (on your touch screen ) one of things that appear will be a little light bulb
You can slide that slowly to your left for less light 👍🏻
Karen good to see you on here I tip my hat to you.

Wise as it is to cancel it's still a shame. Sighing!
I'm enjoying the seedling photos though, Bev's pics of the wavy leaved and the "sized large" wide leaved silver were awesome. Kevin's pics were all superb, the favorite velvet reminds me of the pseudo'Shirley's Joy' I used in crosses last year, I wonder what it's parentage is. I'm liking the shape of Lynn's orange tipped seedling in picture #2 and her darkest heuff in the final image.
I'll be missing all of you. Till next year I suppose, by then I should have a seedling mature enough to bring to the competition.
Stay well,
-Sol

If there was any justice in the world, I would be in my car right now, loaded down with plants and headed to Salem. But alas, here I sit at the computer. So sad.

I will take consolation from the fact that the weather is supposed to be wet this weekend. It should be. Grumbling Grumbling Grumbling

See, there is always a bright spot in every down side. Rain, lots of it on Saturday.
Some how that is not making me feel better. Sad
But next year is not far off. Hurray!

Robert's Crossing just opened for take-out today. I might need some grilled shrimp this weekend...

Still not the same without my friends to share it with. I can't tell you how good the plants look too. A couple of the locals have been over to see.

I just finished planting close to 2 K dwarf irises so all of those will be in bloom next year when you come. I know that Dirt and Lynn may be spending some time looking at them too..
