This first one tomorrow here not too bad... upper 40's all night. Next week however they are showing another front and keep lowering the temperatures, showing down to low 40's here.

I haven't taken down my pop up greenhouse yet. February can be a tease, but I remember March of 2018 we had colder nights and more frost than we did in Feb. I don't think that is going to happen this year, been too warm of a winter. Crossing Fingers!

I think once we get into March it will be ok. They are saying 35 here tomorrow night. Ugh. But its ok just 3 nights under the 50's. We have he'd several days of upper 70's/low 80's with 60+ degree nights lately, spring is inching closer

Whew, 49 here this morning, I am so glad we live east of the St, Johns river, it was much colder on the other side. I dodged a bullet this time but it appears that we will have more chilly nights towards the end of this coming week. With such freaky weather this winter can you just imagine what summer will be like?

It dropped much lower than they said it would here. I woke up at 3AM and it was 42F on both of my thermometers. It is now 44F at a bit past 7AM. brrrr.
I did put my hoyas, blooming orchids and desert roses that are also blooming in the pop up greenhouse, glad I did.

Its 35 here right now, with a feels like of 28 due to the wind. Which probably means that around dawn it was lower than 35. But that is better than the most dire possibility I heard of upper 20's! My poor husband made the probably foolish decision of doing a long run with his Saturday running group, they leave on the trail at 6am. I bet he's freezing his patoot off right about now

Oh I bet he did. I did go for my 4 mile walk, it was 48F when I started but warmed to 54 by the time I was done. That is about my limit of cold. Whistling

DIL in Ashevile is a runner and they go off every Saturday morning at 7. The only thing that stops them is ice, snow and heavy rain. A light sprinkle is often welcome.

Four night cold spell coming up this week. I will have to figure out if I can keep my plants locked up and without water for four days. Unless I'm gonna have to take them out to water and than stick them back in our laundry room or hangar.

I keep a large seedling heat mat in a protected corner of our patio and move tender plants onto it during these weird cold nights. Right now I have purposely limited how many plants I have that would need protection. At my last home I kept 5 heat mats going during this time of year and still had to tote many more plants inside or cover them. Never ever thought I would say this but I love not having to have every plant that catches my eye - then having to worry about them in February. They say wisdom comes with old age and I guess I finally got some. Hilarious! (you will understand one day...)

@Miamiu Eric, I think if you give the plants a nice bit of water right before you stole them away, they'll be fine for four days. I'ts supposed to rain here the two days before the front, so nature may take care of that for ya.

I'm watching, it always seems to go a bit lower than what they predict at my house, so 40F could be upper 30's. The duration of three to four nights stinks.
I don't have much to be concerned about if we stay above 40. That said my pop up greenhouse is still up and waiting just in case. Whistling

I had my hoop house covered up on Friday and Saturday nights, and was about ready to store away the cover for the season until I got a look at the forecast for this week! Yikes, at least 4 nights down into the 40's for us, and the high on Friday not to exceed 62! That is really cold for February down here. Let's hope this is winter's last gasp.

I'll be bringing a lot of my orchids into the house on Wednesday and Thursday, I believe. Anything cold tender or anything blooming gets to come in for a holiday in the Orchid Spa. (my husband's shower area) Thankfully it is a nice big space with a south-facing window that gets some good light at this time of year and I can water them with the shower head.

Certainly the blooming orchids, I have several starting tall spikes. I have lots of flowers just popping out on my desert roses, the older heavy pots I'll toss a cover. but the young plants I'll put in the greenhouse.

Good news, this morning they've raised the temps just a degree or two here...that's a good sign. They were showing 38F two days ago. Crying

Oh gosh, Sherri. The forecast is all over the map here. Some have it cold all day Thursday with a high of only 60, another site has the high of 63 and low of 47 which is tolerable, but Saturday night going down to 44! I'm just going to play it safe and plan to deploy the hoop house cover on Wednesday night as soon as the rain is over. Probably leave everybody covered up for Thursday right through Saturday unless it moderates a LOT Saturday afternoon.

Orchids in the house along with house guests, it's going to be a cozy little greenhouse spa in here!

I'm finding that Accuweather is predicting better than Underground in my location. What I gathered is that this Thursday thru March 2 should be about 20 degrees below norm in my location. I'm beachside south of Daytona. This sucks!!
